FEATURED PROPOSED PROJECTS
Every project has its unique DNA
Through strategic planning and execution, we aim to revitalize these areas, creating new opportunities for residents and businesses alike while preserving the unique characterof each location. The proposed projects are designed with the focus of sustainability, incorporating environmentally friendly features and innovative technology to reduce the ecological footprint. The ultimate goal is to create vibrant, inclusive communities that serve as models for urban renewal economic development. By investing in these areas, we hope to help bridge the gap between underserved communities and mainstream society, creating a more equitable and prosperous future for all.
Railfan Park
Railfan Park is a proposed greenspace within the City of Bessemer developed to serve as a communal area for residents to engage in recreational activities, promote physical and mental health, and improve the overall quality of life. In addition, it can act as an economic catalyst, attracting businesses and increasing property values in the surrounding areas, as well as provide environmental benefits such as improved air quality, reduced heat island effect, and mitigating stormwater runoff. Railfan Park can increase social cohesion as a community gathering place, allowing residents to interact and build social connections. It can also offer educational opportunities by providing environmental education and community-based learning where residents can learn about the local ecosystem and environmental stewardship through events, workshops, and educational programs.
EdTech Innovation District
The proposed EdTech Innovation District development, located in the City of Bessemer, Alabama’s downtown district, aims to jumpstart the economy and revitalize downtown surrounding areas by creating a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration. It will serve as a catalyst for economic growth and community development by creating a new culture of entrepreneurship and attracting investment and talent. The district will also foster collaboration between businesses, universities, and other organizations, leading to the creation of new ideas, technologies, and products that can benefit the local economy.
By creating a self-sustaining cycle of innovation that fosters entrepreneurship, and promotes economic growth, this will enhance the quality of life for the residents of the surrounding communities bringing many benefits including economic growth, increased investments, community revitalization, enhanced collaboration and innovation, talent attraction, and increased property values.
In addition, the proximity of Bessemer to Birmingham, Montgomery, and Huntsville can provide additional benefits. The city can serve as a bedroom community for professionals working in these larger cities, providing more affordable and attractive alternative to living in the more expensive urban centers. This helps draw in new residents and support the growth of the local economy.
The EdTech Innovation District will feature all the amenities designed to cater to the specific needs of not only the startups and established companies alike, but to the surrounding communities and neighborhoods by providing affordable and workforce housing options, recreational facilities, and an adjacent green space development proposal to promote a healthy work-life balance attractive to talented entrepreneurs and innovators to live, work, play, innovate, and invest in the area.
The EdTech Innovation District is where education, innovation, and technology meet, but more importantly it will be developed as an “inclusive innovation” to ensure that the innovation economy growth advances inclusive outcomes for residents living in or nearby by the innovation district. “Inclusive innovation” seeks to create pathways to labor market participation with specialized education and customized job training. It strives to build wealth via expanding the ownership of homes and businesses. And it tries to create a new model of responsible neighborhood regeneration, where improvements can occur without displacement.

This midtown development is expected to attract young professionals and entrepreneurs, as well as investors looking for opportunities in a burgeoning innovation hub. The project is strategically located near major highways and transportation hubs, making it easily accessible to visitors and commuters. The proposed innovation district will offer a range of amenities, including high-speed internet, co-working spaces, and incubators for start-ups. These resources will help to stimulate innovation and foster entrepreneurship, attracting talent and driving economic growth in the region.
