North Star Revitalization Plan
The proposed revitalization plan for Bessemer, Alabama, focuses on the historic downtown area and consists of six development phases within and adjacent to downtown. The plan includes the creation of a public marketplace, a mixed-use development, greenspace, community space and an innovation district development that is inclusive of a midtown development.
The plan also includes the construction of walking and biking trails that will connect downtown to the proposed greenspace and adjacent neighborhoods. The trails will ultimately connect downtown to the current rail trail on Highway 150, further enhancing connectivity in the area.
